For our main conference on LGBT Marketing, Advertising & Technology, held May 18-19, 2016 (Wednesday and Thursday) at the New York Times Conference Center, we have the following presentations and speakers confirmed so far.
Presentation by Bernadette Smith, The Equality Institute
Nearly one year after marriage equality became the law of the land, same-sex couples are getting married in droves. But are they as traditional as their straight counterparts? Are they spending? What trends have evolved? This presentation will share some of the highlights from one year of nationwide marriage equality.

It’s a fact that companies start to really understand how crucial is to start marketing towards the LGBT community. The question is how? While traditional banner campaigns are certainly a good option, marketers keep challenging their minds to deliver their offers in a more unique and engaging formats. This session will explore the power of branded content, the importance of real time B2C interactions and how it’s possible to lead online communities to discuss around topics related to the products we want to deliver.
Presentation by Varune Harnarine, Senior Account Executive - Travel, Google
You will learn how to engage with LGBT customers from Hero to Micro Campaigns. This session's focus will be how to leverage Google solutions to grow your business, unique ways to engage the LGBT consumer and promote inclusivity. This will include best practices from Google and YouTube.
Presentation by Mark Elderkin, CEO of Gay Ad Network
This talk will will show how to leverage the programmatic process to efficiently engage LGBT customers. You will learn how advertisers apply unique LGBT audience segments to target LGBT customers across a variety of media outlets beyond LGBT media, including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and mainstream websites and mobile apps. Case studies from Fisher-Price and Ritz Carlton will demonstrate how the LGBT programmatic process has been successfully put into action.
Lastly, there will be a variety of networking receptions and mixers held during the course of the week, including our own LGBT Week NYC reception held on Wednesday evening. This reception is exclusive to LGBT Week NYC attendees and will be held at the New York Times Conference Center's indoor terrace... it's designed to maximize networking opportunities among attendees and our sponsors who are helping us see this series of events become an even greater success in 2016 and beyond!
Immediately after this Wednesday evening reception, the local NGLCC-NY is hosting their monthly M3 networking event with us, allowing for all LGBT Week NYC folks to attend as well.

- Tuesday, May 17th: Post-conference reception at Google, immediately after the Travel & Hospitality Symposium; in addition, there is an IGLTA networking reception held after this, open to all NYC Week NYC attendees.
- Thursday, May 19th: Out Professionals Tech Industry Mixer, bringing Out Professional's members together with our LGBT Week NYC attendees.
